For Every Time you Felt Hopeless

You may feel hopeless and worthless now, but I promise there’s a reason you’re here. You don’t have a dream, a dream has you. Somewhere deep inside of you burns a passion so hot that you can’t ignore it. Some people give up on their dreams and let that fire inside of them smother. They dismiss them as impossible. They let other people dictate what limits are, and therefore have boxed themselves in to one idea. That idea is that there is no life or career outside of your current 9 to 5 job. The cycle has become so routine that we tend to forget about the things that are important to us. We go to work, come home, eat, shower, sleep, and than repeat everything the next day like a program. When you wake up, are you truly pursuing what you really want from life each day? Are you going to work to pay for unaffordable luxuries? Or are you just trying to survive?

There’s more to life than surviving. There’s striving. Without any goals, a dream will forever remain an idea that seems to be out of reach. When you set goals, you build momentum. That momentum will carry you through tough times when life doesn’t go as planned. Everything is not going to perfectly unfold for you like it does in your imagination. There’s going to be obstacles to hurdle and mountains to climb. Don’t ever tell yourself that something you want is not attainable. You are lying to yourself.

I’m not saying that you should quit your day job. I’m saying that if you don’t feel like you’re living up to your potential, than you need to make a move. There are so many great things in this world, but it seems that mainstream news and social media only focus on the negatives. Focusing on negativity is not going to push you forward, it’s only going to set you back. If you’re living in the past, your present and future will mimic that state of mind. You’ll always be a slave to the mistakes you made, and you’ll never see the possibilities of what you can achieve.

The past is gone. We all made mistakes. We all lost people that we thought would be in our lives forever. We said things that we wish we didn’t, and heard things we wish we didn’t hear. At some point, you will have to reach a level of acceptance and understanding that you can not change what has happened, no matter how much you dwell on it. You can not go back in time. Time waits for nobody. So as you continue to reflect on your past, it continues to dictate your present. If you don’t break the cycle, than it will dictate your future. You will always be the same person that never learned from their mistakes, but instead drowned in their own sorrow. But that’s not you.

People came into your life and left for a reason. You might not know why yet, but nothing ever makes sense in the heat of the moment. It’s not until later when the big picture is painted that we come to an understanding. Every person you have ever met, and continue to meet, is destiny. It’s a never ending journey of learning from people, gaining perspective from them, and moving forward with the lessons you learn. The most important lesson is that none of this is about them. It’s about you. It’s time to invest in yourself. Any day, any hour, any minute you can change your mindset and perspective. Learn from your past, embrace it, and love it. Put it in a hot air balloon, and let it float away into the sky. That balloon will float higher and higher until one day you can’t even see it anymore. When you achieve that, you can move forward. You can pursue all of your dreams and aspirations without being held back by your own mind. Soon you will realize that what you thought would be a dead end job that you would work forever just to support yourself and your family was really just an obstacle and a growing pain. It’s the reason you want more for your life. Free your mind and everything will follow.

The day you decide that you absolutely refuse to settle for less than what you are worth is the same day that you will find true happiness within yourself.

Choose Wisely
